AMPICILLIN

DESCRIPTION AMPICILINA BIOMEDICA, is a product formulated with sodium ampicillin, effective against infections caused by gram-positive, gram-negative bacteria and spirochetes. Fast, safe and broad spectrum atoxic effect. Powder for suspension for injection. PHARMACOLOGY It acts on the bacterial cell wall by inhibiting the transpeptidation processes of the growing bacterium, interrupting its regeneration, as well as accelerating its autolysis causing a metabolic imbalance with the consequent bactericidal effect. It is rapidly absorbed after parenteral application, persisting at plasma levels for up to 8 hrs. It is excreted renally at 5-8 hrs. after its application. SPECTRUM OF ACTION It acts against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, among which are: Streptococcus spp, Erisipelothrix spp, E.coli, Clostridium spp, Proteus spp, Pseudomonas spp, Haemophilus spp, Bacillus anthracis, Actinobacilus spp, and others such as Listeria monocytogenea, Haemophilus Parasuis Streptococcus spp. It also has action against spirochetes. INDICATIONS It is indicated for the treatment of gastrointestinal, respiratory, urogenital, mastitis, anthrax-actinomycosis, clostridiasis, listeriosis and other infections caused by germs sensitive to ampicillin, in all species. ROUTE OF ADMINISTRATION Intramuscular or subcutaneous. DOSE From 2 to 7 mg. of ampicillin per kg. of but corporal in all species. Equivalent to 1 ml. c / 15-20 kg. of weight. WARNING Some animals may have an allergy to penicillins. Do not administer the product 15 days before the slaughter of animals intended for human consumption. Do not consume milk of animals treated with this product until 96 hours after its last application. Keep in a cool and dry place.
